I want a doll I canplay with. I have marisol, but she's limited edition so I don't feel like I can play with her and I have a mint german felicity, so I KNOW I can't play with her.
I want one I can play with, but I don't kno which one. I like the two blondes, the one with freckles and brown eyes and the one with short curly hair and hazel eyes. I'm leaning towards the ahzel eyes.
But I also keep thinking of trying to make a fairy doll, morgan le fey, or a fairy in general and I keep thinking how dark curly hair would look great for morgan le fey, or firey red hair for a brigit fey doll.
HELP!!

I personally like the AG today #24! She has long beautiful wavy hair that is easy to style! She is gorgeous with the brown eyes and long blonde hair! She also looks good in most outfits!

I'd get another Marisol to play with or 23.
I made the mistake of buying Marisol and #24, the same time-and well #24 has taken a backseat to Mari-who looks good in ANYTHING.
Plus I figured even though she is an LE-they will have her heads in the hospital for awhile. *grins* You can still send Lindsay and Kailey there for new heads if need be.

OMG! That is so cool that someone else wants to do a Morgan Le Faye doll!
"Mists of Avalon" is a mini-obsession with me and I plan to get AGT25 for my Morgaine/Morgan Le Faye and Carpatina's Isbael for a Gwenynfar/Guinevere! The site has two AG size outfits for this period, and four for their size dolls. This is my current doll grail.
(The two Carpatina outfits I want the most only fit their size of doll, so that's why I'm not using another AGT)
I just wanted to express how awesome it was to find out I'm not the only one who wants a Morgan Le Faye of her own.

IF you don't plan on selling them, then the best value they have is the value you get out of them by playing with them. If you plan on having Felicity and Marisol your whole entire life, then they would be fine to play with. (If you plan on selling them, though, you definitely will want to keep them in great shape.)
I treated some of my AGs as if they were collector dolls, especially my Samantha and Felicity dolls (and they are collector dolls now, since they are older dolls). I wouldn't even let friends play with them if they were their favorites. On the other hand, I said, "We can play with Molly and Kirsten. They are the dolls I don't mind us playing with."
Guess which dolls are very special to me now? The very most special dolls are Molly and Kirsten. They show a little more wear and tear than the other dolls, but I don't plan to sell any of them. So the most valuable dolls to me today are the ones that I played with--Molly and Kirsten! They have the most memories tied in with them.

I agree, the doll you play with will have the most sentimental value.
That said, I have AG 24 and I love her. Her hair and eye combination is beautiful, and I think she looks good in all of the outfits from all eras. So she's my fave right now

I have all the limited edition dolls and most of the other Ag's. We are up to 36 AG's now. All the dolls are played with. Kit is probably the least played with. My granddaughters haven't gotten into her stories. At the moment Kit is being Kristen's Mother and wearing pioneer clothes. AGT 21 is one of my personal favorites. She is a very pretty doll. She also looks good in everything.

I agree with Melissa here. These aren't collector's pieces. They're dolls first and foremost. I don't buy dolls, or anything else, as collector's pieces. I buy them because I like them. Therefore I'm going to play with them. Of course, to me "play" means changing clothes and doing their hair.
You can play with them gently if that makes you feel better, but I think you should play with the ones you have. You can never tell what will be worth money years from now. They might just end up not worth anything someday, get something out of them now!
